Hi Folks, busy juggling spiders at the moment..as soon as I chuck one out, two of it's mates take the opportunity to sneak in, the little buggers!

Anyway, back on topic, I was given a bike last year from a mate, I have mot'd it, insured it, ridden it, but he still hasn't informed DVLC that he has transfered ownership.

I have entered on my insurance that I am the legal owner, and legal keeper of this bike, but as this guy won't actually send me the V5, am I the legal owner/keeper?

I have sort of "threatened" that if I get a speeding ticket, he will be responsible, but meh, not bothered!

long and short, how do I make this bike "legally" mine?

He's probably lost it, doesn't sound the type to be up to date with his filing.

Why? Do you have a statutory obligation as a new keeper to inform the DVLA?
