Can anyone recommend something to batch-convert .CR2 raw images to JPEG format? They're about 25mb currently and the image converter I usually use isn't recognising them.

Cheers Thumbs Up

Irfanview can do it for free, you'd be better off with Lightroom though.
(from a torrent near you)
You're rather missing the point of using RAW if you do a batch convert though, the whole idea is to have full control in each image rather than the automated process of in camera jpg
There would be some situations with a large number of similar images it would be OK.

You could do Automate > Batch in Photoshop.

A great free image viewer and batch converter is faststone image viewer. I use it all the time even with a fully paid up Adobe suite for the more serious editing. It allows batch converting as well as renaming and opens every file type I ever throw at it. Resize the images whilst converting at the same time if you want. I process upto 6k images a month with it and yet to find a better way to do it!

I normally only shoot in .cr2 (raw) too. I personally use Photoshop cs6 batch rendering.
It's simple to do although I can't remember how, a basic look up on the interwebs should be able to tell you.

Move your files into a folder called 'Original' and create a folder called Treated (not nested).

Open one image. New Action. Save As JPG. Stop Action.

File > Automate > Batch.

Select from folder and export to folder. Select action and GOOOOOO.

When I batch process photos, I usually rename the saved image with a number 1 prefix in the same folder. Then all the batch processed ones group together.
