Plenty of shitters on Gumtree, but you have to act fast.

Gumtree

This post got me excited as i'm looking for an A2 bike on a budget, first page gets me a GS 500 for £500.

"no mot but won't need much to pass the bikes had loads of work dun", standard m8, sfe init.

"previous owner told me u can ride it on cbt as it was restricted to 125 I have all the certification and proof ov this but then obviously iv put a full power engine init", ah gutted m8 would have bourght after cbt if id known init.

IM OUT.

edit: this hunting malarkey might take a while, battle between half decent bike and idiot owner.

Sure, you have to wade through a fuckton (metric or Imperial, your choice) of quads, "field" bikes and "will sail through MOT" heaps on Gumtree, but there are very occasionally - and very briefly - some decent bikes there.

Sadly, I don't think www.lotsofhonestcheapbikesthatnobodyelseknowsabout.com exists.

Agree with all that has been said about Gumtree. You need to check it regularly and be ready to move quick with a bit of cash in your pocket as a deposit. Anything under a grand, with a years ticket seems to be sold within a day round here. There was a low miles RF900 not far from me I wanted to look at as a winter hack, £900 and it sold within 2 hours of being listed.

Avoid anything that has no MOT but "should pass with no problems". Is bollox because otherwise the seller would have done it. Anything that has been on there for a week or more seems to be overpriced or a complete shitter.

It seems that lately prices have risen. Those £500 - £1k bikes are getting rarer, people trying to push for £2k for an old Bandit or a Gixxer that's kissed the tarmac a few times. Chancers mostly.
