I'm one of the mad people who ride all year but hate cold hands.

Got heated grips but still find the outside of my hands and finger tips suffer.

I cant decide on whether to do for heated gloves or get some heated liners as I quite like the Knox winter gloves I have.

Any thoughts/suggestions?

Have you tried lobster gloves. I find them with my heated grips is enough in winter, and like you, I suffer form cold hands.

I power mine straight from the bike. Never had any problems.

I fancy some Gerbing XR-12s for this winter, coupled with my trusty old Tucano muffs it should be plenty warm enough - I just need to find a shop that actually has them in stock to try & buy.
(I'm not a fan of buying clothing online - unless I'm buying a like-for-like model of something I already own, so I know that it fits)

Good muffs if you don't have some.

I fancy trying the heated muffs (hopefully a more even heat distribution.)

Heated jacket would be better. I don't have one but just were layers. You need to make sure you whole body is kept warm not just your hands. Cold hands are due to blood staying with your core. This is why you tend to also get cold feet.

Neck tubes/balaclaver are very useful.

For gloves I use the lobster style ones but hands will still get cold if I don't wear enough layers.

This is why I tend to mostly commute with the car in winter. It just takes so long getting dressed. Maybe I should invest in a heated jacket Thinking

Muf- DAMMIT.

/thread

"Good" (Tucano Urbano) if you can, but even cheap generic ones make a huge difference.

Forget fannying about with gloves, skip the fashion victimhood, muffs do a much better job.

Nearly the season to put them back on. Drooling

Can't do muffs. I tried, got some 2nd hand off ebay. Fit them to bike but thought, umm no. Took them off and sold them back on ebay.

It's one step away from this

Is it that time of year already?

So time pack away my self-riteousness about people riding in flip-flops and a t-shirt until next year. Time to get the "Fit bar muffs." copypasta and blaming of all electrical problems on carb icing down out of the loft?

I've been eyeing up the muffs hung in the garage the past few mornings.

Kinda looking forward to it.

I think you mean in-addition-to.
I want to look like the Ready-Brek kid whilst I'm riding along in winter.

Them XR12's are decent, been using them for last couple of winters. Review on my blog. Wink

This will be my third winter using heated inner gloves. Superb at keeping your fingers from freezing (they don't feel hot, your hands just feel normal). Far better than heated grips. I only have one bike hard wired so use a battery pack when riding the other bikes - last for 90 mins max, which is enough for me most days, but you've obviously got the hassle of re-charging.

Another downside is having to use larger than normal over-gloves (I use lobsters). Finally, the wires are a pain, but I just wouldn't go out otherwise.

Never tried heated gloves, so can't compare them, but I guess that they might even be better, albeit more expensive.

I use muffs, but also have very cold hands.

Would you give us more details about the inner gloves? What brand, are they coming with battery or you bought it separetely? Do I need to buy separate regulator?

Common man give us the whole story here Very Happy

What heated muffs? G. I swear I googled and there is no such think, found some Oxford crap advertised as heated muffs HOWEVER it is not. Its just heated hand warmers with muffs...

EDIT: found em. Kind of expensive £137

https://www.infinitymotorcycles.com/product/bagster-box-r-heated-muffs/4124

Probably will go this winter with muffs and heated gloves.

Ta, I had a read - pretty much confirms what I've read before.
I've ordered two sizes from Sportsbikeshop so I can try the sizes at home - they were competitively priced and they said I can return a pair for free, so that was me sold.

Wear 2 pairs of gloves. Wink

I've got one pair of ''summer'' motorcycle gloves and when it's too cold outside I just put another pair of very thin knitted gloves under those. I don't even have heated grips, yet I can handle 100+ miles with no problem even in the very cold weather.

Keis inner gloves (£60 from here https://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/101456 ) plus optional Keis battery (£50 off ebay). There is a larger capacity battery which I would probably now go for.

As I said, you need quite large over-gloves too. I still don't know if heated gloves would be a better option but so long as they have heating elements in each finger I can't see why not. Anyway, the Keis inners certainly work really well. I dont only use them over winter, but also when going abroad, which might mean setting off from Scotchland at 5 am on a crisp May morning at below 5C Shocked

The think from everyone's favourite muff provider: https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=R333EV . A bit cheaper, but still pretty pricey - they were £100 when released I believe, which still seemed expensive.
