Ok this is a really noob question so sorry in advance...

I'm looking to trade in my current bike for a zx9r and while getting some insurance quotes 2 companies asked if it is a ninja. With the little knowledge I have of kawasaki I thought all zx9rs are ninjas.

Could someone please explain the whole ninja thing to me please?

Yup, my zzr1100 is a ninja (at least, it is in the US). Take your eye off the ball and it'll kick your arse every time - if that's not a ninja I don't know what is Laughing

Are you looking at the later E1 models, after they sorted the gearbox issues?

It was a 97 i think. i haven't really had an in depth look at anything in particular. I have a budget of 2 - 2.5k and want something a bit bigger than my gsr600 and that offers better wind protection. only looking at black bikes as well, not a fan of the bright colours!

thanks for clearing up the whole ninja thing, which confirmed what i did think. strange to have 2 companies ask me if it is a ninja model though!
