For security purposes, a friend was saying how he could feed some into the ground far down and loop it above my concrete paving slabs like a ground bolt just wondering if it's a solid form of security as my bike when I shortly get one has to be locked in the front garden and we're off a road on the front, I want one for front and one for back also. I will also get a alarm and disc lock (along with the 2 hefty lock/chains)

If you just push it into the ground, it'll easily pull back out. If you grout it in, it's gonna be hard to get back out.

Get your piece of U-shaped rebar and jamb the ends into the dirt to make an impression. Now take a stake of some sort that's as large a diameter as you can find (a scaffold tube with the end flattened would do it) and a big hammer and pound a couple of holes into the dirt at least deep enough for the u-bar to sink right down into. Mix some cement with water in a bucket to make it like runny custard, pour it in your holes and shove the rebar into it.

Not as good as a solid block of concrete but then who is going to know it's just grouted in?
