Can I ask whether you plan on contravening Regulation 63 of “The Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations 1986 (SI 1986/1078)” or are you intending to rectify the problem?

Even if you don't have the mudguard. It'll stand a fair chance of failing the MOT without a fork brace.

That style of bike originally had a pressed steel fork brace inside the mudguard. Many testers would regard this as being insecure.

Looks better now it's de-skulled.

Needs longer apes.

These bikes dont tend to get fitted with a silencer on the exhaust most of the time, which im pretty sure is an mot failure as well. Not to mention the heat build up in the engine

It has no silencer and it passed the mot with an advisory, longer apes no thanks I'm hoping to go shorter if I can and I will fit the front fender if it keeps it legal but it wont be huge.

You see i used to ride a fairly cheap 125 and the rear suspension was so soft that the exhaust used to knock against the rear tyre every time i went over a bump. Eventually the bracket snapped and i lost the silencer off the back. For a short while i continued to ride it without one because it was my only bike and i didnt have a lot of choice. The amount of noise that came out of that exhaust without a silencer was astounding, but it wasnt a decent sound, it was more of a loud blowy exaust with a pop and bang sorta noise that pissed off my neighbours. After riding the bike for a while it used to produce an unhealthy burning smell

Now your going to intentionally ride without a silencer on a bike that makes you look like an idiot, yet you're on here asking why people on here hate these silly bobber bikes so much. Are you for real?

Me too thinks it's better than it was, but I would still want:
1, Higher or fold up footpegs and pedal tips.
2, A rear mounted (behind the rear wheel) number plate and rear light.
3, A small front mudguard and a fork brace.
4, A smaller headlamp (for looks)
5, A bigger saddle (for comfort).

I personally would prefer to see the footpegs more in the commuter position and lower T-shape flat handlebars.

In fact as Hipster as it might be I'd rather build the GS125 into a street flat tracker style bike with a small peanut tank instead of a custom bobber.

Thing is how much do I spend on it before I stop? I have got a front mudgaurd that I am working on at the min I wanted to get it looking better than it was I'm sure I'll do more to it as the time goes on or I may not I'll see how I go
