GPS Tracker for android

I want to have an app running on my phone which will record where I went and how fast I was going. Now I know that this isn't for everyone and it seems like lunacy on the face of it. A large section of my ride to work goes through built up areas and I pass several schools on the way. I want to be able to prove how fast I was (or wasn't) going at a particular location at a particular time. I just know that if anything ever happened it will automatically be seen as my fault because I am on a motorbike. So does anyone use one of these apps and could recommend it? There seems to be loads of them but which one do people actually use?

Plod will be able to work out how fast you were going from the skid marks on the road and how far the kid got thrown by the impact.

Wouldn't it be easier to just get a camera and point it so it faces your dash and the road?
Then you'll get all the information you need, and be more protected about a child running out or whatever.

But I don't think it will help you if I'm honest. I hate to say it, but the only way would be to get a camera; you might meet Ronnie Pickering as well.

MyTracks is a good way of recording a ride for later analysis. I seriously doubt if it would be admissable in a court as evidence though since it would be far too easy to doctor the recorded data which IIRC is stored in a simple database format. A camera is a better bet since the binary data stream is a bit harder to fiddle.
