Afternoon you mad lot. I'm looking to upgrade my z750 soon, I've been looking at the z1000sx, vfr1200 buy today I saw a zzr1400 up for a decent price, the only trouble it its on 25k miles. I'm just wondering if anyone has owned one of these what the 30k mile service involves? And what they are like to take a pillion on?
I have looked online for the service intervals but either Google is letting me down or I'm too stupid to find it (probably the latter)

Thanks in advance

Service manual here, with the intervals https://www.brocksperformance.com/Manuals/2012_ZX14R_Service_Manual.pdf

24K is the big one for those, so as long is it was actually done you have nothing much more than a fluid service at 30K.

Ideal thanks Matt. Looks like I'm going to be booking a test ride on Both then.

Mate of mine has one on about 45K and has been reliable for the years he's had it.

Pillion wise they're OK with a decent non slip matting. It's still quite a sloped seat and position so any laity braking or acceleration will mean pillion sliding back and forth crushing balls

That's what happens on my z750. Not keen on crushed balls to be honest. Oh well got a test ride on both booked in for next Friday. Leaning a bit more to the z1000 now. Want to find a more pillion friendly bike.

Had my 2013 Gen 2 for two months now and can't speak highly enough about it. Just the most amazing all rounder. Previously had Vfr 800 vtec and Gen 2 Hayabusa. Test it and you'll want it. Very Happy Very Happy

If I was going after a big Zed it would be the GTR 1400.

Shaft drive, comes with panniers. Lovely bike!

Be interested to hear a first hand perspective compared to the Viffer. I've often looked at the ZZR1400 as a next upgrade.
