Fitted a second hand mid pipe and end can today. The old exhaust had some gasket crap which I scraped and papered down to smooth. The mid pipe slips on nice but it's not slotted so a jubilee style clamp would be useless.

Am I supposed to do something with it like add some more gasket crap? I couldn't hear it blowing but it has an exup valve so at idle I don't know if there's less pressure or anything.

Well it'll need something to make it gas-tight, so I suppose a bit of gaskety gloopy stuff wouldn't go amiss.

What about between the mid pipe and the slip on? Same situation there except the fit is almost perfect being that they're both manufactured to fit.

If its a tight fit and doesn't require a graphite gasket then I'd forget about it. My old R1 had a yoshi and a Leo vice and both were slip on no gaskets or jubilee clips.

No gasket on my Nazi Tractor, just slips on, although there's a couple of springs to keep it under tension.

If I felt minded to use anything, it'd be common or garden (or bathroom) silicone sealant.
