This is my first ever post on BCF being a new member today. I hope this is posted in the right section. Any help given would be greatly appreciated.
I have a 2002 Honda CG125, Iv'e been forced to replace the engine. The engine Iv'e chosen is a SkyJet SJ 125-24. I know it's supposed to be a copy of the CG and the mounting points matched up.
I have seen the thread for wiring diagrams. I did try to use it, I found a link for CG's but after clicking on it I was diverted to quite a few diagrams that weren't CG's or even labelled and tbh I got lost I them. I just want to be dead certain that I'm looking at the right one so apologies if this is in the wrong section again. If anyone has a diagram or could divert me to one for a 2002 Honda CG and SkyJet SJ 125-24 that would be really useful! I do actually have the diagram from a Kaisar XTR 125 (KS125-23) so if it's fine to use that instead of the SkyJet I will (Both being chinese)
I have gathered a reasonable amount of information on the CG from the internet and from following my wiring loom. I have the Kaisar diagram to look at too. For some reson it looks as though the CG only has 2 wires going dirrectly to the CDI and the Kaisar has 3 running dirrectly to the CDI. But tbh I need to proper wiring diagram for the CG before I can have a proper look and can be sure of what I'm seeing. I would have thought they all ran to the same place as the CG's did?
The wires running from the SkyJet engine are pink, yellow, black/red, blue/white, green/white and light green/red.
The wires coming off my Honda engine are black/red, white, yellow, blue/yellow, light green/red and green.
I hope this made sense and I haven't just rambled on. If I left anything out just mention it and I'm sure I can help a bit if I'm being vague. Thanks |

I can help you somewhat with the Honda wiring colours because they tend to use the same colour for the same thing.
Dark green is earth.
Red on light green is neutral light switch.
Blue with yellow is the pulse coil
Black and red is the power feed to the CDI
White is the main charging coil connection direct to the rectifier.
Yellow is the direct lighting take-off from the charging coil runing to both the rectifier AND the headlamp switch.
So if you can work out what the corresponding wires are on your new engine, you're there. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”
