Any motos like Yamaha WR125X?

Hi!

I am a beginner, with no bike, but I have a drivers licence on big motos, too. I have fallen in love on the first sight with the Yamaha WR125x, I just absolutely love its look, the sound, everything. I just started to work, so it would be good to find some alternatives, because its price is horribly high.. As I said, I am an amateur, but I think I would like a 4t moto, possibly enduro, because I am traveling home every week (100km), and every day to work (6km).. and something similar to my dream moto, if possible. Smile

I would really appreciate any tips and other ideas, too!

Honda XR125
Honda XLR125
Yamaha DTR125
Suzuki DR125

Look them up, I think they're all 4t and I assume the all have variants with bigger engines seeing as your have a licence for big bikes.

I only listed 125's because you didn't mention the Yamaha WR250X or the Yamaha WR450F .

Get a Yammy DTR125, no point getting a WR, they're YBR's in a dress.

erm...... isnt the yam dt/r 125 still 2 stroke? (was the last I heard)
op says he wants a 4t.
quite why anyone would buy a 4 stroke 125 for road use is beyond me but thats what he SAYS he wants,

NSR125 all day, every day!
Used one daily for 4 years,
put good oil in it (buy in bulk online and good synth is 1/2 what cheap sh*te is in the shops), don't red line it 24/7 => it will be just fine and you'll have a blast on it Very Happy

Returns 50 mpg if you ride it like you stole it and 75mpg if you keep out the power band (riding like an OAP).

All in all, damn good bike.
Still have one in my garage Wink

Rieju Marathon - grab the Pro model if you can, most got a free DEP pipe fitted at the dealers. WR125 engine, top brand suspension and such but the motors carb fed and slightly more powerful. Only restricted four stroke I know of, and it's a simple job of unplugging a wire on the CDI.

Husqvarna do a 125cc 4stroke replacement for the WRE/SMS125, and don't Aprilia do a 4stroke replacement for the SX125?

I would possibly also consider the Hyosung RX125 and the Pulse adrenalin, as there's a lot of them out there now, and they don't seem to have a Bad reputation for a Chinese/Korean bike, compared to some of the cheaper Chinq supermoto's.

Id avoid the Yamaha XT125X though being only 10bhp, and the DR125SM is not much more I think.

Fantic do some ultra trick looking 4stroke and 2stroke 125's, but they don't import them into the uk and they are almost as expensive as the ultra exotic sexual stuff like the TM125 Black dream.

WR125X has two advantages. Its the best 4t engine in its class and gives the full 15hp allowed for L plate 125s and its build quality. They also keep their value. So if you buy a decent second hand one then keep it till you pass your test you wont lose much money.
