I watched this before the post and my first thought was that he'd binned it and wrecked it. And then of course found out that it had be stolen from the driveway. Any bike theft sucks even more so with such a nice and rare machine.

On the other hand he's already ordered a brand new machine and has a S1000 (R/R)? in his garage alongside a premium 125. Clearly has the money to wipe away the tears.

As he said in the video probably bunged in to the back of a van. No doubt stripped for parts and already unrecognizable.

I would be a bit odd as he only stopped for 10min, that would mean they were following him with a van? creepy

I thought it was his new SM that got nicked at first. Strange that he didn't have a GPS tracker or alarm fitted if he loved the bike so much, not like he's low on cash.

Ten minutes is more than enough time and personally why I always regardless of funny looks from other people leave my bike chained to something. And if I can't then I always put a lock of some form on. I laughed at someone that once told me I should park my bike in usual parking spaces rather than chained to street furniture "Oh yeah, so someone can knock it over and drive away or just pick it up, throw it in a van and drive off?", no response.

Anyhow..

It's a rare bike and would probably stick out more so than others making it more desirable. Easily could have been the wrong place at the wrong time and someone thought they'd try their luck. Even more so if it didn't have a steering lock or any security on.

I question how easy YouTubers are making it though for thieves. Taking the same route video after video. Showing all the bikes that they own and every modification that they do. There's always been a risk factor when watching a video personally that screams "look at me and this shiny expensive machine". The more you have something the more people want it. When you have people riding up next to you "Are you RJ?" it wouldn't be hard for any of those people to have then followed him and then come back another day etc.

All theories though, and without RJ on the forum to describe what actually happened and answer the questions I won't waste my time adding any more theories.

He's a bit naive if he really thinks it would be worthless to thieves for breaking for parts. Especially with that fancy akra exhaust or whatever it was.
You'd probably get a few hundred quid for a knackered moped if you took the time to strip and sell all the little bits, let alone a bike like his.

If you were one of the 50 or so folk in the UK who own a Nuda, is it likely that you'd be unaware of this event?

And so if you found yourself looking for parts, and then magically found some appearing on eBay, might you wonder where they came from?

The sad thing is that engine will never cause a sleepwalking pedestrian to void itself again. Crying or Very sad

I've ordered parts from as far as Japan and Australia for my FZR400 so I'm sure if you happen to own an ultra rare supermoto international shipping is a common thing.

It could be imported to abroad, and sold where there's more than enough Nuda's needing parts, crash damaged etc etc. And I doubt many abroad know of RJ's videos, or care enough to know every single detail about his bike.

If the price is lower than the rest of the parts about, they'll be snapped up quickly. Most people will take up a nice bargain no questions asked.

Fair point, I'm clinging to the fantasy that it's a small enough group of owners that they'll care about where the parts come from. It's not realistic, but it's comforting.

I'm pleasantly surprised that MetPlod bothered to show up, mob handed even. Good on them, I doubt that would happen most other places.

It must have a bit more chance of being found just because its rare and quite high profile, possibly stored some where for now?
It's a sad state of affairs when you can't even leave a bike for 10 minutes, kind of kills the dream of care free motorcycle ownership that we bought into when you have to go through a 10 point security check before stopping for a coffee.

Easy come easy go..he and his family are loaded and hence why I wasn't really that saddened when his last one went missing.

If someone who wasn't loaded and couldn't afford another got his stolen then I'd feel different.

You're too poor to insure your vehicle against theft? If so, I'd feel different about your comment.

It wasn't just about the bike, what it cost or the fact they had the money to replace it.

The bike represented a dedicated following and a lot of love from his fans. RJ is a genuinely nice guy and you could feel his anguish in his 'heartbreak' vid.

I'll admit it, I'm commonly regarded as a thick necked bruiser but I was genuinely fighting back a tear or two at both the loss and the return.

Long live the Nuda I say.

A stolen bike is exactly that regardless of owner or the figures in their bank account, can't say I think it acceptable for one vs the other to have their bike stolen more or less, a shitty thing to do on the whole.

..

Now that he's advertised he's got a new one I just hope he secures it all times for the sake of scaring pedestrians. Twisted Evil
