Well, as I said in a previous thread about a week ago, I have some knee damage, and I've just got back from the consultant dude.

It turns out I have kneecap damage. (teh kneecap has been slipping out the groove for the past few years wearing away the kneecap and the knee joint and getting it buggered.) To sort it, I will need quite a major operation with a 6 month recovery time, and because of school, I can't have it till next June.

So what does this mean?

No bike till December 2005.

BOLLOCKS!!!

Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

But on the positive side doesn't that mean you can jump on a bigger bike with a fixed knee? Thumbs Up

Nuts to that, this is why we live in the wrong time. In the past they would hack off your leg and be done with it, in the future they would get a mechanical droid to repair your cyborg knee. Maybe even just grow you another leg.

Unlucky anyway, thats so long to wait...

At least you will be able to save up, whilst not riding, and get the bike you have always dreamed of.

Make use of the time.

LMAO.
You know perfectly well that asking people to stop doing something will only encourage them all to keep doing it worse than ever!

Shocked

Its a bugger. I have a mate who had that op (is it the cruciate ligament thing where they reattach your knee ligaments or something?)

But . . . you have to let it happen and be patient - especially as you are so young. You do NOT want to be getting to 40 and not be able to bend your knees. Especially if you've been getting it since you were 11.

Go back to your original thread, and read what Blue says. Cool Sensible bird, that Blue. Cool

sorry to hear that mate, it sucks, i may be facing a major ligament operation myself, but its uncertain as of yet, got an MRI scan monday

i would like to give you some advice tho, do some research, use the net and dont just listen to one consultant, there are often many different operations to fix one problem, and the best one from the consultants point of view may not be the best for you, so make sure its all on your terms, at the end of the day its your leg, not theirs and you will always care more than they do, so kick up a fuss, get a decent bloke, and get it done right Thumbs Up

Confused Erm... although I know you had the carcrash, I thought you were getting better quite quickly, as you have a pic of a new bike as your avatar Neutral

Also, at least you've had a chance to ride a bike so you know what it's like. I havent even had a chance to go on one yet, so I have no idea if I'll enjoy it or not! Meh...
