suzuki 125 intruder wont start

hi guys i have a mates suzuki intruder i am trying to get back on the road but having trouble with getting it to spark. the cdi and one of the coils are getting what i would say to hot and i am sure this has some thing to do with the problem. i have tested the side stand switch and the clutch switch along with the ht leads. plugs are brand new. i think the coils are ok also.
any ideas why out of the 2 coils one is getting hot and the other is not and why the cdi unit is getting hot
