Any ideas on a decent place to order nuts and bolts from?

I've tried trawling through ebay but it's horrible and the postage is always "free" so it's a pain in the arse to get discount, and ends up being extortionate. Plus everyone seems to be selling stainless A2/70 which I don't want. I've found a few sites but then they only seem to have grade 12.9 socket caps or not enough sizes.

I just want good old 8.8 Allen socket cap bolts in a variety of lengths (engine casing bolts) but also want to pick up a few normal nuts and bolts for general consumption. Anybody know of a decent website or even a real place I could go to (nr rotherham/sheffield ish)?

For now I'll continue to trawl google for the ultimate small quantity uk bolt supplier...

I've used https://www.nutsboltsandthings.co.uk/ a few times for stocking up on standard sized stuff and they are quite good.

Postage isn't free but is in price brackets depending on weight iirc. Most of the nuts and bolts are in either A2 or BZP, not sure they'll have high tensile socket caps.

The best supplier of small/large quantities of fasteners etc that I've found isn't far away from you. They're a small family run firm who seem to stock everything. They're a bit old-school, but I've yet to come away from their counter without my requirements.
Whenever I go there, I feel that I'm in the four candles scene from The Two Ronnies. I was gob-smacked to learn this evening that they actually have a web presence:-

Brabbin & Rudd. Only have two stores as I know of though, one in Bolton, one in Wigan. I use these for my own personal stuff.

J R Websters are more widespread, but they seem a bit pricey. We use this firm through work though.

These guys in York also have most things fastener related (including an M7 fine pitch nut for Mrs stinkwheels YB100 cylinder head).

In a remarkably small shop almost entirely covered in 6x6" tote trays.
