Picked up a screw in my nearly new rear pr3. Local tyre place does hot vulcanising tyre repairs rather than mushrooms. Are these repairs any good? Better or worse than a big mushroom plug from the inside?
Cheers!

Had it fixed. Guy said the screw went in at quite an angle but he filled it with liquid rubber, stuck a patch on the back and heated it between hot plates to cure. Looks very neat, hoping it lasts well, soon see.

Nobody else answered the phone and need bike tomorrow so I was short of options.

It happened on the way home yesterday, heard a load of banging and when I pulled over found a chunk missing from my hugger. Screw was gone but a scruffy hole remained. Happened close to home so got back with air leaking out before it went flat.

Hot vulcanising can be legally done on side walls and shoulders and also on Z rated tyres so it must be good. I guess it comes down to how much you trust the repair place.
