Just noticed I'm 0.5ltr short of Castrol for a change I was planning to do this weekend. Anyone know of any good deals currently on? On Castrol Power1 10W40 semi, or other brands for that matter? Ideally in bricks'n'mortar shops I pick up this weekend. Don't really fancy forking out £10/litre odd in Halfrauds if I can avoid it.

Last lot of Castrol I brought was fiver a litre in ASDA and I seems to have just missed a good deal Opie had on 4ltr bottles. Doh!

Not bike oil. Will have whatever additives in it that'll screw up clutch.

I've used Castrol GTX 10w40 for the past 4 or 5 oil changes in my CBR600f.

No slippage.

Can not be guaranteed to not have additives that will screw up a clutch, but since ACEA A3/B4 has no fuel economy requirement and 10W-40 is not a viscosity used in efficiency-seeking engines, highly unlikely that it will.

Hence will probably be fine, as demonstrated by others.

Another vote for whatever's cheapest in <supermarket of choice>. I've been using "Carlube" branded 10W40 for a while, no problems at all.

Went in lidl a few days ago and they still had a few 4L bottles of 10/40 semi synth for ~£12, though the special buy must've been a few weeks ago so supplies will be drying up.

looks like a good oil at a very competative price.. Thumbs Up

20L@ £58.99 free delivery is very tempting Thinking

JASO-MA2 – This specification was introduced in 2006 for modern motorcycle engines. As well as being a higher standard of oil the JASO-MA2 approval means the oil is suitable for use in bikes with catalytic converts in the exhaust system.

Costco, £40 for 20 lt's. Does all the bikes and cars with no issues. Have used it in 2.8 turbo diesel iveco. 1.8 mondeo, 900 divvy, 600 cbr, 400 zxr, and cbr125 with no issues whatsoever. Its acea a3/b4 spec
But we all know that the real reason to go to Costco is the trays of 12 cakes for £4

Cool, loads of good deals. Picked up that 4Ltr Castrol GTX from ASDA in the end. Bit misleading as the the shelf price had it down for £22, but it clocked up as £14 on the till. Bit weird, unless I missed some promo price sticker somewhere....

The only other thought I had was picking up a 25ltr drum. Seen Morris bike oil for £100 drums, so £4/ltr. Only leaned towards Morris to support a local business in my home town and I've heard it's not bad stuff. Hmmm...
