Bought a set of Furygan leathers a couple of years ago. When I bought them they were matte black. After a few months they lost their matte finish and turned shiny. I ended up coming off on a roundabout and scuffed them up. I had an eBay saved search and finally, after almost 2 years, a BNWT set comes up for dirt cheap. This set have the same matte finish. Would leather cleaner stop them from going shiny? And do leathers actually need treating?

Yes, leathers need cleaning and conditining to keep them supple. Helps to shower proof them too. My Rst 'touring' leathers and the r14 cheepy leathers are matt finish. Use a leather cleaner first, i use Belvoir tack cleaner on all of my leather goods. Is cheap and effective.

Then use a matt finish conditioning soap on the matt goods. I found this and it's pretty good. Rubbed well into the seams it keeps a short shower out and it doesn't make contact points slippery unlike greasier products.

It's about 6 quid from horsey shops.
