Bandit 1200 misfire

Hi All
I have a Bandit 1200 K6, had it for about 15 months with no problems. The bike has an aftermarket pipe on it.
The bike started to misfire at low revs about three weeks ago, when you roll the throttle open it will splutter then pick up, at higher speed / revs there is no problems.
I have changed the coils and plugs, installed a new air filter.
A local bike shop stripped the carbs and balanced them but still the misfire and also the mpg has been hit. Used to get around 40 mpg now achieving around 25mpg?
Any ideas?

You'd have thought it was a carb/jet problem but if you trust the place that cleaned and balanced the carbs try running it with the tap on Prime and see if that helps. Bandit taps are a well known weak point with the diaphragm playing up/ failing, may not be allowing enough fuel through at low revs but is when it opens up with more vacuum.
Worth checking just to discount it.
