bike has a strange fault.

Recently the bike feels like its bogging down when coming off revs. It has also cut out twice and struggled to start again, managed to start it but had to keep the revs up so it didnt die on me.

Was fine when i got home, admittedly i havent been letting it warm up enough before setting off so might just be this but feels like more.

It feels like fuel starvation, like it is about to die, but mostly happens when coming off the revs, even if i sit with it in neutral and blip the throttle, as the revs drops it sounds like its about to die but then sorts itself out.

Now, this could be due to letting it almost run dry of fuel?
Spark plugs?
It starts fine and runs fine, maybe just not letting her warm up?

any advice welcome, its a 08 superduke r

thanks all

Exact same thing happening to me lately, except on my CBR 600.

I'm blaming spark plugs and have ordered another set, they are due anyway.

How much have you fiddled with the exhaust / fuel map?

How's the warmed-up idle speed?

To be honest its only happened on a few occasions, as i havent used the bike that much recently.

Once its warm it seems fine. I did test the throttle blipping once home last night and it does sound a bit 'eurghghgh' when releasing the revs.

Idle speed is fine both cold and warm, it seems to be when its been under load and then released.

Going to change the plugs anyway.

First thing I'd do is give it a spanking and then change the fuel.

hmmm got to admit i've only used it about a dozen times in the last month and all for short journeys.

I'll do that roger, already ordered the plugs but no harm having some new ones in anyway.

what do you think is causing it though?

well took her for a short blast last night and all seems fine, makes me wonder if it was because i let her run almost dry, possible crap from bottom of tank issue?

for some reason i like to play that game of how close to empty i can get, dont ask me why, the only loser is going to be me. I shall stop this game from now on Smile
