Anyone who knows anything about monitors for gaming help pls.

BenQ specs and Asus specs

The most important features of these two monitors are already identical to one another. Both 144hz, 1ms pixel response, and less than 5ms input lag.

I'll be using the monitor for fast paced FPS gaming, but also care a lot about light bleed because some of the games I play have really dark environments and need to have decent contrast.

Don't care about colours too much cause these are both TN panel monitors and I already plan on using my IPS as a dual setup so I dont have to tab out while gaming etc.

Two deciding factors are which is better in dark environments on screen, and which has better colours but reviews don't really comment on these two features too much.

A lot of reviews do say go for the Asus over the BenQ cause it's cheaper, so I'm leaning more towards the Asus. Also it's contrast ratio looks a lot better on paper than the BenQ.

I can comment n the ASUS because I've owned the 27" version of that monitor for about 3/4 years now (I forget when I actually bought it).

If you've got the fire power to utilise 144hz (i.e. you can output games at 144fps) it looks a treat to see the difference. Everything is fluid as fuck and generally feels MUCH nicer.

Game mode for me seems to have added super contrast / saturation that I see. Playing Skyrim in Game mode on it and everything looks insanely saturated. (Skyrim doesn't like higher than 100hz or things start behaving strangely).

Back light bleed is horrible though, the worst of all 4 monitors and in the dark with the piano black bezels, it can be quite distracting/reflective.

I have 4 monitors in total, all sat on the same desk so I can compare them easily.

ASUS VG278HE - 27" monitor we're talking about (1920x1080) 144hz
ASUS PB278 x 2 - 27" Have two of these for work (2560x1440) 60hz PLS screens (Like IPS but better)
ASUS PB279Q - 27" For work mostly as well 4K (3840x2160) 60hz (IPS screen)

If I were going to buy another gaming monitor (I only like gaming on single monitors) I would get an ASUS ROG Swift - 27" 2560x1440 but at 144hz with G-Synch + 1ms response time. Pricey if you were buying two though, not to mention the SLi / Tri SLi setup of monster GPUs you would need to utilitse those resolutions and frame rates!
