I have held my motorbike license for around 8 years, but have just passed my car test (first time, 1 minor, win).

Have I reverted to a 6 point limit? Or am I still on a 12 point limit, with my car having been added as another entitlement on my existing license? Struggling to find this information online.

Cheers

As Paddy says - new driver act only applies to your first test pass in whichever category you take first.

I passed my car test in 2008 (aged 39) and the examiner tried to tell me that I'd have to retake the test if I accumulated 6 points in the first two years. I waited until I had the pass certificate in my hand before telling him that he was talking crap as I'd held a full licence for a bike since I was 17 Laughing

Ditto for me but other way round. Passed car test first and bike test many years after. I did correct him but only politely as he was actually a decent geeza.

It is bloody scary how little they know though given their position
