So just been looking at my licence on line

and it shows the following

Vehicles you can provisionally drive
Category : AStart date: 11 May 1994End date: 12 Apr 2046Restrictions applyImage of category A vehicle Hide information
Description

You can drive any size motorbike, with or without a sidecar

Restriction codes

01 Eyesight Correction


Does this mean I can ride my 750cc on L plates???

Or am i missing something?

Yes you can. Provided you are over 24 years old. You have the correct insurance and are in visual and radio contact with a DVSA quallified Direct Access instructor.

If you have provisional B (car) entitlement, do you think you could get behind the wheel of a car and tear around unaccompanied just because you'd slapped L plates on it?

Fair enough, they do seem to go out of their way to be unclear.

When it says "You can drive any size motorbike", it doesn't imply "without any conditions attached", it just means in contrast to having provisional entitlement for A1 or A2 bikes.

You are 24+, right?
