Possibly, I now have a complete H100 and loads of spares, I have an engine that's been knocking about for ages, and lots of random Honda stuff. I've pretty much decided the RS and the Mito can go, I've always wanted them but I know I'm never going to do anything with them at all, hopefully I won't make too much of a loss on them, I just need the space and a bit of cash.

Alright all,

Havent updated this for a while, still got the little Honda and still enjoying riding it. However its a shame ive got to update it for the wrong reasons Sad

Long story short, sat in traffic, someones reversed back into me. 100% their fault, more i thought about it the worse getting it sorted through insurance sounded. Theyd most likely have wrote the bike off, which i didnt want, and it would have affected my insurance on all my bikes and cars for the next few years no doubt. So as much as it annoys me, it has left me abit out of pocket...

Anyways, when it happened, the mudguard bent round and folded up, so that was ruined, the little cable tie that holds the brake and speedo cable snapped. The biggest issue was that when the mudguard got pushed back it sheared the mounts off the fork legs Sad So this was gonna be the most hassle. Luckily it had only broke two of them.

Doesnt looks too bad, but it was the forks that where the big problem

https://i1229.photobucket.com/albums/ee475/roboff/Honda%20H100/BC2A2D3A-BF2D-4AEA-9B81-A9C487D83EA7_zpsdar4mbqi.jpg

So after looking online it appears you cant get the fork lowers anymore, so it was either find some more or repair mine. Mine are (or where) in pretty good nick, and i couldnt find any second hand anyways. So i decided to get them repaired. Fortunately theyre all nice and straight.

So started to get them off the bike, was abit tougher than i thought, the top bolt just did not want to crack off...

Forks off

Damage can be seen, looks like nothing but i think the front mudguard ties the legs together so i thought i best get it done properly

https://i1229.photobucket.com/albums/ee475/roboff/Honda%20H100/713E9BF7-A51F-4428-83CC-150C03562A1C_zpszuttwv2x.jpg

Took the forks into work and started stripping them down so i could send them off to get welded. The contents of a H100 fork leg

Had to make a special tool to hold the damper tube whilt i undid the bolt, doesnt tell you in the manual its a 10mm hex for some reason, struggled like hell on the first one then second one took about 20 mins haha. Oil seals took an age to get out aswell, and didnt come out easily...

https://i1229.photobucket.com/albums/ee475/roboff/Honda%20H100/850C74E2-52EC-4933-BA6A-627DCA68537D_zpsmjke4d0m.jpg

The offending items, ready to go to the welder

https://i1229.photobucket.com/albums/ee475/roboff/Honda%20H100/DB344876-BB78-4181-A711-67BFA2C1A84D_zps2ry2p2sm.jpg

Thats where im up to so far, got a new mudguard on order, not a genuine Honda one which im annoyed about, but it is what it is. Also got a fork seal set, some oil, and a cable clip on the way. Dropped the legs off the other day so should hopefully get them back soon. Looking back i guess it could have been alot worse, still annoyed though...

Let us know what you think!

So glad to see that you're repairing it and not consigning it to the scrap heap Thumbs Up

Sorry to read that your bike has been hurt.

Oh yeah, take more than that to send it to the scrappers, far too nice for that anyways haha.

Got my forks back from the welders today, pretty happy with them, they need abit of cleaning up and abit of a polish but they look okay. Shall post pics soon Thumbs Up

Gutted to hear mate! cracking bike! Look forward to the photos.

Did the guy that reversed into you offer any money as you are not going through insurance?

What do you do to protect the bike, as in, do you use any form of ACF 50, or is it more of a case of it never sees any rain / moisture??

So frustrating!

Pics as promised...

https://i1229.photobucket.com/albums/ee475/roboff/Honda%20H100/F2D312C9-DC9F-4BCC-AFD1-C16EC5BD424A_zpsl9hj5nuf.jpg

The two left hand side mounts are the ones that have been rebuilt. Maybe abit more of a tidy up with a file and they'll be fine for me. Theyve got heli coils in as he was struggling to tap the new welds. Once its all built up you shouldnt be able to see them that much. But for £40 im happy with them, got all the seals and oil now, so just need to build them back up.

Regarding the insurance the guy wasnt bothered about me going through his insurance, he had a 50 quid excess, so it would have cost him 50 quid at most, and he was probably old enough for it to not make that much difference. As much as id have loved to have screwed him over it just wasnt worth it for me in the end Sad

And no it doesnt really get ridden in the rain or owt, it lives in the garage so its nice and dry

Cheers guys!

Insurance would have been fine, you'd have been able to keep the bike for a minimal cost, had a wedge in your pocket to repair it and a free holiday Thumbs Up

Cheers guys Very Happy

Got the legs built back up

New Oil Seals going in

Bit of thread lock on the Damper Tube bolts

Used my super home made tool to get them tightened up, its a proper struggle without it!

https://i1229.photobucket.com/albums/ee475/roboff/Honda%20H100/E83CB1F2-E519-49E5-ABDB-94446375CF71_zpsb5l31xwn.jpg

Spring and retaining plug going back in

https://i1229.photobucket.com/albums/ee475/roboff/Honda%20H100/88FF450E-A063-4F26-9614-A255D7C20C9A_zpst2fyw5qw.jpg

And all back together, gave the lowers abit of a polish to try and get rid of all the scuff marks. Nearly all of them came off fine so happy with that. Just need to fit them back on the bike and chuck some oil in them, hopefully get that done this week.

Haha cheers mate, i dont think its that exciting though!

Weather was naff the other night so sacked my car jobs off and put the Honda back together.

Filled the legs up with oil first, 80cc is all they take, which seems a tiny amount to me but thats what the manual says. Was a lovely purple colour

https://i1229.photobucket.com/albums/ee475/roboff/Honda%20H100/E05A911F-97F1-4054-95F4-5A98E1C7BFAF_zpsjv241ywh.jpg

Got the legs back on, not too bad of a job

https://i1229.photobucket.com/albums/ee475/roboff/Honda%20H100/ED8C2B06-78FD-4C19-B3D9-A8D78712ECED_zpsa5p1yk6h.jpg

New mudguard fitted, possibly the biggest P.O.S ive ever seen. Brackets are all wrong, metals thin as a crisp packet, its not the same profile all the way along, and it came scratched out the bag! This is what has annoyed me the most, knowing that i wouldnt be able to get proper Honda parts to replace them, well not nice ones anyways, cause the old one was mint. But it is what it is i guess... Sad

https://i1229.photobucket.com/albums/ee475/roboff/Honda%20H100/85FE1E7C-F9F5-420E-890E-57229FB99F5D_zpslm7pcfy4.jpg

I did however manage to get a genuine cable tidy, was only 2 quid haha

https://i1229.photobucket.com/albums/ee475/roboff/Honda%20H100/7C08DE00-F48B-4E6B-A9C3-39E1A9B2D8AE_zps6uj2nctf.jpg

And thats it, all back together, gave it a ride down the street and everything seemed okay. So hopefully i can draw a line under that episode and start enjoying it again. Although i have enjoyed doing it rather have done it through choice...

Hiya

Looks good. I need to source a front mudguard for the H100 at some point so at least now I know the patten ones aren't great!

Surprised at that little fork oil

All the best
