Speedfight 70cc. i think my belt is sliping?

i think my belt is sliping on my scooter because when i pull away it revs really high, then it slowly moves, then gains speed from there. does anybody have any ideas. and could it be because i have a race belt on the bike, could it be stretched?

Don't really know anything about how the scooter engages its drive (infact never even knew they used belts?!).

Anyway I would say is the clutch type assembly adjusted correctly, are the weights all ok/moving freely or even heavy enough if you have fitted a "race" belt?

belts often stretch, so would say its the most likely cause.

its the way they are im afraid. it take s while to get going as the clutch has to come out then the variator kick in when the revs get high enough. it has to rev to get the clutch out so this is whats happening. easily sorted by reving just before you set of witht he brake on and then just let go of the brake to start moving straight away.
