The bloke at the local bike shop looked in a book and said my MTX takes 1.5 litres of engine oil...... I used the leveller and only got 500 ml in, I've ran the bike round the block and checked again. Half a litre can't be right....can it? Anyone have a definitive answer please?

Isn't there just a level plug? Make the bike stand straight, and fill it till it starts to drip out from the level plug. Thumbs Up

You have to unscrew the plug to check the oil level. 1.5L seems a lot, considering you only need to lube the gears and clutch. Thumbs Up

By looking at the clutch cover, I'd say the plug must be the only bolt screwed in, in the bottom left corner of this picture.

That's the one, and having a second opinion helps thank you.

I didn't quite believe that 1.5 litre was right, neither 0.55L but as it turns out, it is.

Thanks for the reply
