Id go for either the YZ250 or KX250 2t 125's lack torque' especially the KTM/Honda/Suzuki & TM, these rev higher & run hotter - don't last as long & neither are as reliable as high torque - low rpm 200-300cc's. the YZ's are well known for having the most bottom end torque over the other brands with less explosive mid range-top end punch & the KX is known for best of both worlds with its mid-top end power.
if a 250 feels too much of a hand full you can add a shorter end can like the FMF Shorty to the stock down pipe teamed with smaller carb & it'll pull like a tractor with less of an explosive - more controllable powerband along with 1 of those grippy seat covers & harder compound rear tire for less grip = less arm wrench + less chance of accidentally flipping it. i also recommend using the Apico lanyard magnet type kill switch for even more control if things go whoopsie.
Handlebars: low rise bars like the Pro Taper Contour in Ricky Carmichael form move the riders weight further towards the front end for more front tire grip & wear the rider out at a slower rate.
Clutch lever: Pro Taper clutch perch/lever is a much easier pull for more lever feel & less arm pump. |
