So the spacers fit perfectly. Had to polish the one that goes down inside the bearing on the sprocket carrier so it wasn't such a tight fit.
Now just need to get the adapters welded to the two rear wheels, then it's off to the painters.

The rear wheel is so nice to take off and re-fit as both spacers 'slot' into the wheel and caliper bracket. Such an easy swap when going from drys to wets when track-side.
Will do something similar with the front if possible.

And I picked up these little stickies last night.
I won't be running PMT's for the dry, because I tear them to death after 2 or 3 sessions, I will be going with the Sava MC0 slicks.
But for the wet, there really is no compromise for the PMT-R cut slicks. Very Happy

Wheel and sprocket carriers adapted by an anonymous person. Laughing
And then welded on.

Wheels and frame back from the powder coaters.
A fantastic job done. Smile

Fitted up the wets to one set of wheels, and trial fitted rear wheel into the swing arm.
All seems well.

Slicks arrived today.
Decided to put bearings into the other set of wheels, fit the sprocket and disc up, and mount the tyres.

Bumbaclat Engineering? Laughing

Headstock bearings and front axle arrived today.
Got it roughly assembled in the garage as a basic roller.
Had to fit both front wheels (1 slick and 1 cut) because both of my rear wheels are fecked after the powder coating. Bearings wont pull up tight into the seats, and the axle wont go through easily. So gonna have to re-think that with something now.

Shock is too long. Considering shortening mine, as it's a decent unit.
Although I can buy a 245mm DNM from OORacing for under £100.

Waiting on my front brake set up now, and then I can really get the roller underway.

Then it's just a case of deciding on a class to race in, before buying a power house to shove in there. Really feeling some lairy 160cc+ monster.

It is mighty big! 230mm. The wheel is only 250mm (10")

Had to modify the fork leg slightly to get it all to go on.
It's still very raw. I need to neaten it up yet.

That's a lovely trick Brembo 4pot caliper too! Smile
I need a small 4pot that would work on a 230/240mm disc myself.

I'm enjoying the build, and will be interested to see the big block 150/160cc monster engine you fit, but also can't wait to see the bike finished so you can get the Rotax beast back in the workshop. Thumbs Up

I messed around with the brakes again today. I've spaced the disc off of the wheel a tad more, and attacked the back of the caliper carefully with a flappy grinder disc. The caliper now comes off of the disc, without having to loosen the disc bolts.
so I can order a second disc, to run on my wet wheel. Smile
I might just buy the kit again next month when I get paid, to get the second caliper, and eventually make a bracket for the rear. Would be nice and trick with a 4 pot Brembo front and rear. Razz

Fitted some controls and bled the front brake up yesterday.
Seems like it's an immensely powerful caliper for the bike. Exciting stuff!

Got loads of odds and sods on order which should be arriving early next week.

Took the roller to work today and stuck the pressure bleeder on the 4-pot caliper as it still had air in it.
Feels amazingly dialed in now. Well chuffed with the front brake.

Drilled and fitted up my rear axle bobbins too.

I've bored them big enough to take the nut and the head of the bolt on the axles, and drilled them out to 12mm. So the bobbins are acting like spacers on the end of each axle, rather than bolted into the end of the axles with pissy little m6 bolts.
These shouldnt break off in a bail. Cool

Other than hand guards (which are on their way), and a rear master cylinder. The roller is done.

I fitted the new 260mm DNM rear shock today. Feels so much nicer and has more adjustment than before.

Engine wise, I've picked up a Daytona 150 - USA engine. Will absolutely spank a tuned 160cc Chinese engine. Exciting stuff! Razz

I'm trying not to really like pit bikes, but failing massively now! Laughing

Binge do you think that Brembo 4pot will work on a LHS fork mount ok? Also how much is the caliper, and if your ordering another one soon let me know as I think it would probably fit my KMX's front disc, and I could double up with you on an order if it's easier or cheaper to share postage?

It's designed to run on L/H fork leg. But my rear wheel set up has forced me to run the front wheel with disc to the right.

I'm looking at buying another disc for my wets, to save me changing it over each time, so if you want to pay for the caliper and 1/2 the postage, I will put the rest to as you wont be needing the disc anyway, and they come as a set. Thumbs Up

I will find out a price. Smile

Cool stuff!

Yeah I'd be happy to pay to take the caliper only from your next brake kit, and split postage etc as required.

let me know the numbers and I'll drop you a PM dude! Thumbs Up

Hi Binge.

Cheers for looking up the pricing, erm will you need the caliper mounting bracket at all mate? I'm not sure if it will be any use to me, but I will need a template I guess to make a caliper bracket from, so thought the kit bracket could be useful as a starting point maybe?

Erm how much do you want for the caliper as I guess it's the most expensive bit of the kit? I'm happy to share the postage costs, so let me know what you think ok.

Hi Binge, cheers I'll take the bracket then to see how close it is on my bike. Is the disc itself say about £20? And I'll pay the rest and postage, if you give me your payment details ok mate.

Not to sell myself out or anything, but I was happy to pay about £35 for the disc. Laughing

So I came across some Red Baron graphics in Blue. Well chuffed. Razz
They will be here over the next few days.
Time to buy a new set of plastics and fit them up. Seems a shame to peel the original Thump graphics off of their plastics.

Engine will also be here in a couple of days.

I went to swap the rear wheels over yesterday, to trial-fit the wets as I've not made sure they fit with the new spacers yet.
And as I unbolted the rear caliper, it snapped at it's mountings. Doh! Poor casting.
So need a new rear caliper now. Just so glad it broke in my garage, and not mid-race next month. Laughing

New Graphics:

Yet to be fitted. I'm waiting for some decent UFO or Polisport plastics to come up instead of sticking them on cheap Chinese plastics.

And then, my engine arrived.
The money I paid, I thought I was getting a Daytona 150, at a reasonable price.
When I opened the box, I was surprised.
I'd bought the engine un-seen from a friend who races bikes, I trust him massively, and I suppose I didn't read into what I was buying very well.

What I actually bought was this:

More to the point...

This:

It's a Daytona Anima. 150cc 4 valve.
It's got a 4 stage map-able ignition system, and a 4-stage rev limiter.
They are dictated with bullet connectors on a bunch of loom hanging out of the back of the ECU. But I am going to look into a small switch panel, and some fancy switches, or even a rotary dial to flick through the maps. Razz

Eat your heart out Thumpstar!

This thing, is an absolute freaking power house!
It's off to OORacing in the coming weeks for a carb and set up.

28mm carb is the weapon of choice according to the interwebz.
