Passed mod 2!

Sorry if this sort of thing is considered clutter on the forum but am chuffed so had to announce it!

Got through category A mod 1 and mod 2 with 1 minor each now to replace my trusty 125. Know someone selling a gpz500 so considering that.

Any advice regarding the gpz/anything other wisdom to impart to a new rider?

Nice one. Well, bikes should be cheap this time of year.

GPZ500s are fine and can be fun, but they're all getting on a bit. Brakes aren't great, rear shocks are slacker than a tart's knickers. Mirrors are useless and need extended. It'll be a step down from your training bike.

However, insurance and running costs are cheap and you're unlikely to lose anything on it. Handling is fine and they're perfectly decent as a commuter or leisure bike if you're not all about big torque or license losing speeds.

Cheers both! Yeah I'm not expecting anything close to the cbf600 I trained on. This particular gpz has less than 7000 miles on it and the guy is after £500 for it (mates rates). Yeah not after a bike that does anything to extremes really, I'll just be happy to get out onto the road
