I have put up with people singing Christmas songs for the past month, the day can't come soon enough. The only thing I like about it is spending time with the fam and this year is going to be with my bro and his wife.

The intense pressure from small children to BUY ME STUFF! The enforced jollity, it takes ten times longer to go anywhere or do anything.... Roll on January.

I sympathise with those who have youngsters
the pressure to get them the latest/newest/bestest shit like what some other kids are getting is enormous, especially if money is tight.

Having a mid winter break for Sol Invictus, Hanukkah, baby Jebus whatever, is fine knock yourselves out, have a good time.
Getting sucked into the commerical hysteria is hell.

You can get yer arse that on Christmas Day when you've not even recovered from one onslaught, the fuckin holiday and new year sales adverts will start on TV.

as soon as my kids were over 16 I stopped doing xmas pressy's and I tell people DO NO BUY ME ONE
I can buy my own jeans & socks and as I have been bearded most of my life Aftershave is effing no good to me
TBH I'd rather be in the flat on my own rather than sit through xmas day with the usual shit on TV

but will spend it with the Mrs and have a nice meal together as its not often were off on the same days
