So much for a lunchtime ride. Is this the battery needing a charge?

Got a multimeter and trickle charger on the way if it is. |

'Sounds' like the battery is gubbed.
But meter and charger should be in your possession anyway.
£25-30 for a new 'budget' battery.
Before lashing out and spending ££. Make sure all the battery connections are clean and secure.
The smallest amount of shit can play havoc with electrickery.
Disconnect the cables from the battery.
Use some sandpaper (Glass paper) emery cloth or wet and dry to clean the terminals and the faces which touch the battery terminals.
You should do the same at the big cable on the starter.
The cables to and from the 'main relay' (Should be somewhere near the battery)
Reconnect the cables and tighten. Don't go mental with the spanner as they don't hold the bike together. Slight hand pressure with the correct size spanner is all they need.
If you are fitting a new battery is is always Good Engineering Practice to clean the connections this way. ____________________ Disclaimer: The comments above may be predicted text and not necessarily the opinion of MCN. |
