The thing the luvvies don't get is that when they write characters to parody the ignorant unwashed underclass, those same people will identify with the character depicted because it's the only time they or someone whose viewpoint they can identify with, will get shown on screen, whether that's Alf Garnett, Loadsamoney, Rab C or Vicky Pollard in Little Britain. The proles don't get the joke, that they are having the piss taken out of them, it flies right above their head, even if the chattering Grauniadista classes do, and snicker at their expense.
