Looking at getting a Suzuki dz350 1995. Bike runs but I've been told that its it lost power due to tappets need a looking at😕. Would the bike lose power due to tappets or could it be something more serious? Also been told there a tapping noise again due to the tappets? Just after a it of info as to what to look out for when I've picked the bike up. Thank you👍

A friend bought a DR350s as a non-runner.He checked the valve clearances and adjusted those as they were too tight, but the main culprit was the manual decompressor which was seized because of the cable being adjusted wrongly.Once that was all sorted the bike ran with no problems.

In the past I have had problems with spark plug caps, where the bike has run okay when cold, but once hot there was a misfire. The original plug cap was expanding with heat and the coil energy was dissipating to chassis via the crack.Once a new plug cap was fitted all was ok Thumbs Up

It might be an idea to do a compression check if you can get the engine running.A cold engine would give all of the wrong test results. If the head gasket has gone, that will bring on an expensive repair.

If in doubt,walk away Neutral
