Before anybody else starts to lecture you about the anti-joys of deristricting a ped... presumably cos you're only 16, it will make you safer as one can keep up with the flow of the traffic. Bad points, you're breaking the law and are therefore unlicensed thus uninsured to ride the vehicle.

You would normally deristrict by removing a washer in the variator, accessed by opeing the casing. Slip off the variator and you will see a small ring which one can pull out... make sure somebody in the know does this. Secondly on the exhaust manifold, there are 2 pipes... one leads to the expansion chamber and muffler, whilst the other is a dead end... Now, saw off the dead end pipe to the point where the 2 pipes split and "crimp it". Make sure that you weld it properly so as there is no escaping gas. Thirdly, remove the restrictor cone in the silencer... best get a professional to do this. Usually a 3 stage deristriction on a piaggio type ped costs 100 quid all done. Hope this has been of use... www.sc-ooter.com had everything there was to know about 2 strokes but unfortunately shut down Crying or Very sad

Good luck Titot

Nice to see someone posting something helpful, rather than just ripping the guy apart for wanting to do it in the first place. Smile
