Hi to all.
The weekend just gone I fitted a new battery to my old S reg 100cc speedfight as the old one had seen better days. The bike fired up first turn of the button. I left the bike run for 10 minutes before switching it off and putting it under it's cover. Tonight I've just noticed in the dark the red led light was lit up under the bike cover. After putting the key in and trying to start it the light has stayed on whether the key is in or out the ignition suggesting its immobilized. I've got it connected to a small solar trickle charger.
I've disconnected the battery now fearing to constant led light will flatten my new battery.
So were do I go from here with it.
Any suggestions,,?
The bike is not worth much because of its age but its in immaculate condition with only 2500 miles and bog standard. It would be a shame to see it scrapped over this.
Many thanks for reading
Johnny

A LED will flatten your battery but it may take six months to do so.

I'm starting to think the solar panel is playing havoc with it all..
Whats worrying me the most is that I don't have the red master key either

contact your local dealer for the machine in question, they maybe able to provide an expensive red after giving them your frame number. worth a shot

Hi buddy.
I've just been making a few phone calls on whats the best route in getting it sorted out.
Peugeot main dealer want around £300 to get it up and running but another independent bike repairer has quoted around £150 to sort it out. What a disposable society we live in nowadays. A perfectly nice low mileage standard scooter facing its maker because of a simple fault
I think I'll still get it sorted though.

If you can find out exactly what model of immobiliser / CDI you have, you could get something like this for it.

Once again I thank you all for your help on this.
This evening I connected my battery back up to the bike but the dreaded light came back on.
I'm not prepared to pay the extortionate price Peugeot want only for it to fail again sometime in the future. This weekend I will take the old cdi out and identify which one it is and order a bypass one from ebay. This will hopefully end my issues for around £40 / 50.
I'm not the brightest bulb in the pack so could you tell me if I'm doing the right thing
If I replace my broken cdi with a cdi by pass ,its a simple plug and play.
No new keys are needed. Just simply swap them over and the little scooter will start. ( abait with no imobiliser )
and the red master key will no longer be needed,( even though I never processed one anyway )
Many thanks
Johnny

try it but don't be surprised if it doesn't work
because the immobiliser is already tripped
Many thanks

Hi Andy.
I've just read your input at the end of my post.
Are you saying a cdi bypass may not work on my bike because the immobiliser has already locked me out.
Brown trouser moment again if your right buddy

Hi to all again.
After stripping the bike down today I found a cdi unit next to the battery with the numbers printed on it ,( AEC400 ) Can I assume this is the old style CDI immobiliser that was fitted to these bikes and this is what I need to replace with a aftermarket bypass one. Do I need to replace anything else in order to bypass the immobiliser apart from the AEC400 box.
Many thanks for reading and advice given.
Johnny

Success !!
My immobiliser bypass arrived today and after a couple of minutes fitting it in, it started first press of the button.
It cost me £39 and 1/2 hour to take all the plastic panels off .I now have a bike that's works again and is free of that stupid immobiliser.
Its a big chain and lock from now on to keep my bike in my pocession .
Thank you all for your help and advice you have given
