Nottingham Museum of Industry Went there today and it is stunning, a line up of Brough Superior prototypes and a great steam hall (only in steam on the last Sunday of the month) the highlight was the Besford Beam Engine. The staff are brilliant and well informed but not in your face. recommended. ____________________ Bikers make great organ donors, get 115 on your licence today. |

I went to the Fleet Air Arm Museum last week. https://www.fleetairarm.com/
They had some interesting aircraft for the spotters but their immersive "Carrier Experience" was very well done and presented.
Their simulated carrier deck alone had two flavours of Bucaneer, a Phantom, a Vampire, a Sea vixen, a Gannet, a Sea hawk, a Scimitar, an Attacker and a Wessex (which you "arrived" in) you were free to wander around without ropes or barriers.
The concorde prototype was probably among the least interesting aircraft in their collection.
An all day job or if you're local, the ticket lets you in for a full year. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”
I did the 2010 Round Britain Rally on my 350 Bullet. 89 landmarks, 3 months, 9,500 miles. |

Saw signs for that recently and need to visit soon. Cheers for the review. ____________________ Current - Harley Davidson FXDB Street Bob | Harley Davidson FLTR Road Glide | Harley Davidson Road King

Can I un-recomend the 'New' museum of transport in Glasgow?
It cost a packet to build it.
It's dysfunctional as a museum because the most popular exhibits are unable to be seen. (Unless you have a cherry picker access platform/binoculars)
The Tall ship 'The Glenlee' at anchor out the back is the real target for any trip to the museum. By-Pass the museum and head straight out to the boat. ____________________ Disclaimer: The comments above may be predicted text and not necessarily the opinion of MCN. |
