Hey guys,

I have a pair of generic heated grips that I'm hoping to install on my Pulse Adrenaline.
Fitting them to the bike is absolutely no hassle but my main struggle lies in the electrics. I hope to fit them to a "switched live" wire as they dont have the auto turn off function that some oxford grips have (I paid £12 for mine compared to £60 for oxford grips) so I don't want to wire it directly to the battery incase I leave them on or something stupid.

I have a wiring diagram but as previously said I'm really bad with electrics, does anyone happen to know which wire I should splice into and if my bike will even be able to run the grips with the extra 2A of current?

Apologies for the long post guys and thanks for your time

Cheers guys,

-Scott

Why? I don't!
£12 grips on a Chinky bike, you are buying problem' mate. Just leave it alone. REALLY.
2A? That's 25W or so, probably as much current draw as your head-light; and the wiring on them is barely up to carrying even that wattage, generator even less up to making it.
While for £12 I wouldn't expect them to be particularly water=proof, or robust, or even at 25W make much heat! They are clamped around a big metal tube and that will soak most of what they deliver away faster than it gets to your fingers!
I have NEVER seen a 'cheap' grip set up work, and NOT make more problems than it solves. There is a reason why the (admittedly over-Priced) Oxfords cost that much!

Buy a decent pair of gloves or muffs, and save yourself hassle, leave the electrics the fuck alone on that thing!

If you have to mess with spanners? Treat it to some tender loving maintenence; Change the oil & plug, replace the chain & sprockets; grease the brake-pins; plety to keep you busy doing stuff that is far more 'useful', and solve problems rather than make them.

Sorry...

Sure you wont pay heed and will bluster and but, looking for an alternative opinion, and try and fit'em, now you gt'em regardless... B-U-T.... don't say you weren't warned, when the problems you dot need 'start!

I looked at buying heated grips and then thought the main problem to why my hands get cold is the cold air running over them. So I bought bar muffs as wow rain frost cold wind doesn't cause any trouble with my hands freezing or getting g wet gloves they by far the best cheapest thing you will ever need to keep your hands warm . But the down side is you end up feeling the cold else where IE your feet or that small hole you never felt in your jacket lol.

Do it right using a relay:
https://www.bikechatforums.com/viewtopic.php?p=2444272

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/111581062672 (fit a lower amperage fuse).

Power from the battery, switch it from the sidelight or brake light circuit.

Replace your sidelight and tail bulbs with LEDs to free up some Watts. If you're worried about power drain, go and run your bike normally and then feel how hot your regulator is. That right there is excess power that's available for you to use.

I agree that your first priority should be muffs though.
