Top of my Head:

Automatic Cam chain tensioner not automatically tensioning?

Video Explanation

Manual

Try an oil change and check the oil drained from the sump for jewellery (Expensive Shiny Stuff).

Not sure if it has a paper element filter or screen but that NEEDS to be examined by removing (and cut open if a throw-away style).

Check the exhaust pipes to see if it has any rust holes and replace the exhaust header gasket before tearing the engine down. Pin hole leaks in the header, or a failed exhaust gasket, produces a metallic pinging/clicking noise.
