I've got a 2008 XL125V Baby Varadero and I'm looking for some tyre advice.

I need to replace the front tyre as it is getting near to the limit. At the moment, it's fitted with stock Bridgestone TrailWings front and back. The back tyre is nearly new with lots of tread left.

The obvious thing seems to be to replace the front with another TrailWing, but all the mention on-line of them as 'DeathWings' makes me wonder if there's a better choice?

Any recommendations for a good front that will work with my existing TrailWing rear? I don't have the budget to change both.

Also, any recommendations for good motorbike tyre suppliers in the Bognor Regis, Chichester, Littlehampton areas of West Sussex?

Cheers

Tyre Leader is best for prices normally.

Unless you had a problem with the old tyre I'd stick with them, tyre preference is subjective. People like BT02* and I can't stand them people hate BT01* and I loved them.

Ooh deathwings. Nice choice Neutral

I ran a conti twist on the rear and some Avon or sava on the front. Superb tyres.

Just to update on this one, on the advice of a local tyre fitter, I ordered a pair of Avon RoadRiders. They are being fitted tomorrow, and then as soon as we get some dry weather to 'scrub them in' I'll see how they compare!

You will be limited by what is available for the size of tyre - I managed to pick up a brand new Metzler for by Vara of eBay at a bargain price, and it is 100 times better than the stock 'DeathWing' it replaced.

Change tyre fitter straight away and cancel order......

The only resemblance of them to tyre's is they are round and black.....

Grip = zero, life well with not giving grip means they never wear out Laughing

Take the advice of the others Thumbs Up
