Finally got around to doing my DAS as I was waiting until I turned 24. Passed both first time and super happy about it as I spent a year and a half on a 125.
Now to go and get myself a bike, looking at sports tourers/half faired types. If anyone has anything decent in and around Gosport for sale let me know. Very Happy

The advice on here helped very much, cheers!

How did you find the test? I rode a 125cc for a year before DAS also and passed last week (also waited till 24).
Riding home on a 600cc knowing I'd passed was the best.

Well done.

I thought I rode like total shit due to nerves so I thought I'd failed. Came as quite a shock when he said I passed with 1 minor.

Have you purchased a bike yet?

Fair play, no I have been looking around. Don't want to rush into anything but knowing I can ride any bike riding my 125 at the moment is not satisfying at all haha.

I've looked at a Fazer F6 and a Suzuki GSX650f. I did want a hornet or bandit but none around at the moment..good luck on the hunt.

I'm looking for the exact same bikes as you. Though I'd be tempted to consider a VFR if one came up for the right price.

Only issue is trying to find something decent at the right price in a sea of overpriced dealership bikes. Rolling Eyes

For the Fazer and Suzuki I've been quoted £450 roughly for insurance. Most other bikes seem to shoot up in price for me.

A VFR would be lovely. Smile

Loads of sensible bikes about. Considered a naked with a bolt on flyscreen? Might stand up to the rigours of being a first 600 better than something plastic clad. I like my faired bandit, but it's incredibly sensible compared to everything else on your list.
