Hello, I am really stupid but can I have your help guys?
I am the guy who had the accident on the Gilera Runner in July. just got my NCD and rest of the documents and I just found out that I had personal accident cover?? My policy expires on 27th december and my accident was on july 9th. would it be stupid to ring them up and tell them?

I rang few days ago to stop auto renewal?
Those who say bla bla I want free money, I was working prior to the accident and I still cannot do much so the money would be good to till I recover

The fact you have this cover makes no difference to you making a INJURY claim....
That is down to you having the proof to back up the claim.

What is surprising is that you have not been bombarded with calls about your accident....
Was it not mentioned at the time either by you or the ins co about any injuries?

Why? because when I had some paperwork from hospital it had some solicitors leaflet in there I gave them a ring and they basically said if you havent lost a limb or had serious injury we cant deal with you

Oh yes I received at least two but since my parents had about 3 accident ( non fault) over the last few years they are bombarded with those calls with Indian people asking if you had any accident in the past few years I kinda know when to hang up.

I have not read the terms and conditions of this additional personal injury thing but like
What I don't get is would they pay out because the accident was totally my fault basically with no one else involved.

To back up the claim I have hospital discharge note, its logged at the GP and i think I even have a report from the police that they attended the scene but couldnt blame no one bla bla... really confused now that shall I give them a ring or not.

All this cover is, is passing you onto their preferred solicitor who will look at the details and more than likely agree with the other company.

I would hazard a guess that if no other party was involved. Then you are looking at claiming against yourself Laughing

Just give them a ring. You got nothing further to lose. Karma

Quote:
travelling along the north circular and wss going to take the slip road i went too close to the staggered line and the front slipped and i lost controll and crashed into the kerb at the end of the staggeree line
flying 4 - 5 meters and landed on the slow lane
only injury is broken bone above right ankle but its too painful

So you would be claiming against yourself.

Go on give them a ring. I'm sure it will give the person on the phone a good laugh Embarassed

Had it not been your fault, then you could have had a claim.

Incorrecto!

Personal accident cover isn't legal expenses. Totally separate

It doesn't rely on fault - PA is there to pick up the pieces if you have an accident of your own making and will give you a cash payout based on either temporary total disablement or death

Unfortunately this particular policy will almost certainly be with MCE and therefore the biggest waste of fucking time known to man. The biggest case of mis-selling shit cover ever seen since ever yo.

Let me guess OP - thousand quid limit and you've got to lose a limb before it pays out but you paid about 35 quid for it at the inception of the policy?

You are right, not even 35, it was 29.99. I got f**ed over on this policy anyway, already checked on a comparing website how much it will be for next year with 1 year NCD. currently paid £73 on the Gilera Runner but original policy was taken out on a 50cc aprilia for£35 a month.
Found third party only - £35 monthly
Fire and theft - £47
Comperhensive - £63

would go for fully comp since this accident wasnt expected and never know however I am not working at the moment so just take bus to college and leave the bike in the garden. I got time till may 2016 to pass my practical again so will give it a go, Not planning on selling the bike anytime soon, even a 125 is a dream to ride. The sort of freedom and I guess a bigger bike along country roads that can go more than 50 miles without overheating will be even more fun in a couple of years time
