How much flux does the frame have on it?

not had it down to bare frame yet but most of the welds on mine are of a nice standard nothing like the CBF horror stories I have seen (on here)

I has 3 now! the frame is a bit chinese-ish, the welding/quality of paint on my stomp 140 is better.

as one of mine is quite deaded I may use the front/rear end and wheels on the stomp.

I'm saving up for one, got the cash for a decent second hand one or I might just save for a few more months until my local dealer gets more in and buy new.

Want!

Hopefully Kawasaki will come to their senses and bring the Z125 to the UK to introduce a bit of competition. I'm baffled as to why they wouldn't.

What's annoying is that it's not compatible with the standard engine mounts I believe - otherwise you could be plugging in 18hp fire-breathing lumps from OO racing etc.

Wots put a 180cc kit, exhaust and fuel controller on his MSX, takes them up to around 18hp. I rode it after it had been fitted, back to back with his standard MSX125 and the difference is quite considerable. The 180 has some decent low down grunt and pulls really hard in comparison where the 125 feels breathless and flat.

If I lived in London or some major city where filtering was a regular thing I would happily commute on an MSX with a 180 kit. They are a fun little bike.

To me half the fun is riding it flat out everywhere, trying to make it more powerful kind of misses the point.

It's a bit like my own CRF250L on paper it looks a bit feeble - you can get stuff to make it go faster but it will wear out quicker and burn more fuel, why not get a 400 instead - enjoy it for what it is - reasonably capable + fun on the cheap

Just went to view one. Sounded a bit too good to be true, and it was. The bike had been stolen from a dealer Confused Too much damage to put right for what the guy was asking, but I had a quick test ride.

First impression was where's the power... remembered it's a 125, so gave it a fist full of throttle... a little bit of power emerged Smile

I'd have to take one on a proper (dealer gone for an hour) test ride, but one thing I did notice and didn't like was that all the wind resistance is on your chest.

What, stolen and recovered, being sold as damaged by the dealer?

How much were they asking?

No it came from a dealer, but was being sold by a private trader. He wanted £1600, '15 plate with 1400 miles.

If it was ridable, how badly damaged could it have been?

Write-off wouldn't bother me with a long term keeper / project bike.

It wasn't recorded. Probably about £250 to put right, putting it into unmolested msx territory.

Mmm, fair point. The few that have sold on eBay have gone for under £2K. Sellers can of course ask whatever they want. Wink
