'Avon vp2 sports tyres', any opinions please?

My zzr needs new tyres. I was thinking Michelin Pilot Roads as the last two pair have been, but I've seen the Avons on the interweb. They're in the right size, new, and over 1/2 price of the PRs.
Any opinions please? The bike is a 1990 zzr110 and mainly used on the motorway.
I don't suppose I'll get well over 6000 miles out of the Avons, but has anyone any experience with them please?

I don't know about those particular Avons but for sport touring Avon Storms are the mutts nuts.

I have Storm Ultra 2s on the ZX12 and they are indeed a decent tyre for touring. They are wearing well, even on a bike that likes to eat rear tyres in a few thousand miles.

One of my favourite tyres. Although they are old and went out of production a while ago now.

Wont last 5 mins on a ZZR11 mind.

Ah, old stock. That's not an issue anyhow. I'll be curious as to how long they'll last. I've been getting about 6 or more k miles from PR1s. If I get 3 k I'll be happyish, working on the fact they live on the M74 and M6, and were about half price of the new pr3 or 4s.

3k should be doable.

We fitted a set to a work mates ZZR11 D model after fitting a set of ZX6 forks, YSS shock and ZX7 wheels. Best handling ZZR I've ridden. Managed 4k to a rear VP2 Sport. Bike was only used for fun and never saw motorways mind...

Used to get around 4k to a rear VP2 Sport on my old Zx7 with a mix of motorway and twisties.
