Howdi all

Passed mod 2 this morning in the cold but sunny chimes of Banbury. No minors either. Actually quite pleased with myself......

Yay - bring me that Fatboy!

One day Thumbs Up

I did my training on a 5 yo Yamaha xj6. I found it much easier to ride and control than the gladius - so I might get myself one of them to keep myself active on big bikes until I can afford an America. Somehow my little 125 Honda is not going to keep me happy for the next 12-18 months...........

I was set on a Harley or a Bonnie but after my mod 1 the other day I had nearly an hour sat in the test centre while waiting for the other lad to do his test. I had really chilled out by the time we set off and the Gladius felt really good. I'm now thinking a Harley may not be the bike for me.

I think it's very much a case of try before you buy. As much as I love the look of an America, I've only ever sat on one at the bike show (NEC). Might be way too much hassle to actually ride. By which case I will be back on the Street Triple path lol

How do you find the forward controls?

To be honest - apart from stalling it at the first junction it was all fantastic. For sure its a big ole lumbering thing compared to my 125 and I'm very (and I mean very) tentative round corners.......but its thoroughly enjoyable.

Even the heel toe shifter (which was my biggest concern) was logical and easy to use.

Can't wait for some warmer dry days come spring when I can go out for a blast and see what it can do Very Happy

I asked as I did my mod 2 the week before Christmas and I will have a bike incoming in around three weeks time. The wife still wants a Harley and I've seen a couple of 1200 sportsters but they have forward controls and I'm not too sure about them. TBH though I'm going more off the idea of a Harley but will have a go on one to keep her happy.
