That was two stops from where I used to live. Two of my mates are within 30 seconds of Leytonstone station. What a world.

Um... I reckon having been set upon by a frenzied, knife wielding, shouting, ethnic while he in turn was simply going
about his daily business. I'd bet he's pretty fecking far from OK. #Olympic legacy #everybodysthesame

The sort of scary thing is that this guy was clearly just a dimwitted lunatic. Pulling a knife out and getting stabby in a tube station is the stupidest and least effective way of really 'retaliating' for the whole Syria thing.

It's scary because it makes you think there could be a fair few other people with much greater intelligence who are also currently working on things with a 'This is for Syria' mindset...

This just about sums up what's wrong with this country. Clearly the most important thing to do during a terrorist attack like this is to make sure everyone distances the attack from Islam as soon after the event as possible.

Fellow passengers reportedly shouted at the man to drop his weapon and one person shouted "You ain't no Muslim bruv," a sentiment which has been picked up on social media by people trying to disown and sideline the attacker.

Not sure what you're trying to say here?

I think any level of #youaintnomuslimbruv is a hugely good thing.

Remember most divisions are about group identity, and which side you most comfortably side with. It's so easy to make it a black and white 'Muslim vs West' issue, which only increases the risk to the country massively, because we have something like 3 million Muslims in our borders. With you saying everything is so directly linked to Islam, all you're doing is adding fuel to the fire. Any Muslim member of BCF could see a comment like that and, as a good person, be made to feel alienated for no reason. That's what leads to things like the tube bombings.

By saying that terrorists and attackers are not a welcome part of the Muslim community, it helps deter others who may have thought about doing things under the justification of Islamic identity.

I mean you can't just write it off the entire of Islam as a lost and barbaric culture. It isn't. It's just still developing. Consider Christianity, Catholicism, the crusades, the inquisition. At that time there will have been medieval versions, "#youaintnochristianbruv". And here we are today, western civilised culture with no more beheading and the likes. Public outcry like that is what causes positive change. By denouncing that tube stabber guy, the culture surrounding Islam takes a good step forward, and certainly does something towards preventing more loonies doing things like that 'for Syria'.

I guess its different experiencing that happening in front of you vs watching it on video. I would like to think that I would do what I could and step in but realistically if there was a nutter wielding a knife who had just stabbed someone else I think I would probably step back while valiantly calling 999.

Fight or flight innit.

Sometimes I wonder if the entire middle-east thing is a mission to topple Saudi. Look at a map. The country is surrounded by states that are destroying themselves.

Also funny how snug Israel is in there for all of this. The only country left to go is Jordan.

But that was in the 1200's-1500's that Christianity had the Crusades, Inquisition etc. The same time slavery was rife, chopping people heads of was the sporting pass time.

It is now 2015. If Islam is still rooted in the middle ages, and it is, then there is something very wrong with people who subscribe to that ideal.

How we can allow Islam and Muslims to live in our society yet blatantly break our rules and laws and not do anything is criminal.

We have equality for women. Does Islam? It forces women to cover up and please don't say it is their choice, they are forced into it from birth. I'm sure if one of those women told her husband/father she was going to wear a bikini on the beach she would be told 'Carry on dear, you do what you want'. Rolling Eyes

It's a backward religion and is regressing.

If you noticed last year Saudi Arabia essentially nuked the petro dollar. Normally Saudi Arabia absorbs US dollars when they sell their oil, they usually send them back to the US by buying US stuff.

Saudi usually absorbs more than they spend. This gives the US free pass to print as much money as they want. China used to absorb more than they spent. Which gave the US license to print as much money as they wanted.

2014 many nations stopped absorbing dollars. Saudi started spending more than they were absorbing. China did the same.

This puts a pickle on the US economy which if you haven't noticed hasn't had a debt ceiling debate since 2-3 years ago. They don't have a debt ceiling debate so they can essentially print 1 trillion extra a year.

This clip could hardly have been edited better by the BBC to demonstrate this. In the 1 minute clip edited for Pravda, they even amplify the volume when the bloke twice shouts "You aint no Muslim Bruv" and then the reporter re-iterates what he said, just in case you missed it the first 2 times. That was the centre piece of the clip. When the guy, right by the video taker shouts "Tazer him" you could hardly hear it, as soon the other guy denounces any link between Islam and this terrorist, the volume suddenly increases serval fold.

And why, ever, would a news report want to glorify the violent part - "TASER HIM!" - and not make special note of the rather important part which essentially tells the entire country that it is not cool to do anything bad in the name of Islam - "You ain't no Muslim bruv."

Personally I think it's fantastic. It's one of the first news reports I've seen that incites no unnecessary racial hatred whatsoever, and at the same time cements an idea that Muslim people can be good, and it's cooler to be good than it is to be bad.

It's as if you want the divide to worsen! Rolling Eyes

Dear BCF mods, if we (the bcf massive) are not permitted to upload 'offensive' images why not ban video shot in portrait mode too?

This offensive behaviour needs to be stamped out/nipped in the bud.

I am putting a petition together.

Would it not be good sense to get to fuck aht of it when the PoPo have some cnut cable-tied to the floor tiles? Or is it the fashion to rubberneck like a muppet until there's an asplosion? The 'onlookers' were a bigger problem for the PoPo than the perp.

It annoys me that they claim he's terrorist just because he said 'for Syria', he's obviously just some lunatic with no affiliation to ISIS trying to shit-stir.

Yeah I agree with this in a way.

The same goes for the pillocks who killed Lee Rigby. It was just some black Londoners who presumably had north-African roots of some sort.

It's annoying because it's not actually terrorism - as in, spreading terror for some political or ideological means - it's more like mindless retaliation by idiots who aren't happy with things in their little sphere of existence.

Although... As stupid and mindless as these sorts of attacks are, I really don't think anyone in government, homeland security or whatever didn't expect a bit of this... I mean this country does have lots of people with roots in the middle-east. That's fact, and it has been for quite some time. 'Terrorist' retaliations on home turf are a blindingly obvious thing to expect at the moment. The UK government will be well aware of the increased danger to its own citizens

More the other way round. Saudi manipulates the whole area. They're currently fighting alongside Al Qaeda and getting assistance from ISIS in Yemen.
