Well the fact they're not connected to the forks might have something to do with why it went over. Sorry, sold as seen. Dance!

On another note I feel that if I crash in the future I'll smile because the disappointment of not being able to produce a paint diagram to the ever evolving level we've seen will outweigh the actual sadness of crashing. I feel like I've missed the advanced MS Paint lessons.

#27 I think

So, my first ever crash and its a boring one.

Leaving college this evening, tired....

got out of the gate, accelerated away, got up to 25ish hit ice, spun the back wheel up and got into a tankslapper and then hit the deck (witnessed of course, by everyone on my course! But they did help me get her upright)

damage to bike is broken and scuffed up fairing, slight grinding on bar end and a good gouge out of the clutchcase. Rode it home. Damage to gear isn't bad, kevlar jeans and textiles A-OK no evidence of damage, but visor hinge ripped off lid, so thats getting scrapped.

damage to me is small gouge out of my shin (assuming I smacked it into the peg) really sore left shoulder and hip. Mr Ambulance (biker apparently) said soft tissue damage and to take painkillers and rest up so I'm on paracetamol, codeine and tramadol right now...

Paint diagram: (well, I don't have paint, so its a googlemaps/GIMP mashup) might not be entirely accurate, but you get the idea... Laughing No cars on the road at the time

damage (slightly potato as couldn't hold phone still):

Tbh, I'm not sure how I've not ended up in this thread lately, as some of the icy conditions I've had to ride in have been quite bad.

GWS Thumbs Up and see if you can get some used parts to replace the broken bits on the bike.

Just ride it, you girl.

Compo claim to council, duct tape and a dab of pound-shop paint, it'll buff out, and so on.

At this mini roundabout turning right.
https://i.imgur.com/zxcS29Y.png

As I get to the roundabout I see the refelction of headlights oncoming.

No issue because it's a 20.

Get 1/2 way round and Ford Transit man is almost there already but he is slowing down to stop.

I get 3/4 round and he doesn't stop. I jam on my brake and he looks up as I go down and he clips and runs over my front wheel.

I get up a bit pissed off but see him with his 'I'm so sorry face'. He reverses back a bit then pulls over down the road I was going down and I follow.
He tries to tell me I wasn't indicating but I show him that the indicator is still fucking on Very Happy
Thinking about it he wouldn't have seen the indicator because it was on my right and he was on my left.

Damage:
Scuff to wheel from being ran over

Fucked front fairings, air tube and smashed mirror.

Rear Cowl fucked.

edit: wouldn't be surprised if he was on the phone when it happened.

Video? Witnesses? He didn't see your indicator because it was pointing at the ground?

No pics of shin. Gouge is mallet than a 5p. I've had worse injuries from kickstarting the cg. And Roger, I will be back on it as soon as my shoulder isn't in constant pain... I'm not going to bother to repair any of the scratches, they are part of the bikes history now... but I will re-enforcw the break in the fairing... probably with GRP

Mr Shinigami told me this was mandatory.

https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v482/cheesetoothedtoucan/smush_zpsxs1cy8k3.png

I was filtering at 15mph, Audi quattro (4x4) turns right from the stationary traffic (not the section for turning right), indicator flashes once as he begins to move. Bike is knackered, he has a dent in his back door. And he took so long to stop after completing his turn that he ran over my foot. Cunt.

Fairly slow speed lowside on a KTM 990 Adventure.

I was filtering past a few cars as they were waiting to join left on to a road that was filled with queueing traffic. This corner is a funny one, it enters a steep hill with a good mix of gradients. As I approached I started leaning over and looking up hill to check for any cars/emergency vehicles coming through the red light downhill... As I do a Merc decides he wants to detour the traffic and joins me going right out the junction. I think I was already quite well leaned over at this point and when spotting him I must have leaned over that bit too much for the nearly new TKC80 tyre on the front so washed out! Laughing

No real damage, just some scrapes to the crash bars and an easily repair to my X-screen mount. I left a lovely scratch mark in the tarmac!

I was surprised how quick I got the bike back up and up the road. In my head the whole thing lasted minutes but it was over in under 1. The driver I think was unaware what happened, heard the noise and had pulled over to see if I was OK and needed an ambulance.

Is your foot ok? Confused That might be a tough one regarding liability, it's the Audi's fault but you know filtering's the work of the devil. There are a couple of cases that might help, Davis vs Schrogin, and another one which I'll have to lookup which involves filtering + a right turn. EDIT: I think this is it: https://www.motorcyclelawscotland.co.uk/why-choose-us/case-law/shaw-v-russell-and-another-(2004/ 5% liability Eh?

Thanks for the info, will have to wait to see what insurance say. Obviously in his story he was indicating for a minute and I was doing 70 I'm sure.

Foot is remarkably unbroken. As is the shoulder I landed on although both are looking bluer than papa smurfs wang. Hurray for good gear.

end of the day, they turned across you without checking their mirrors, they can't argue she was going too quickly as there is very little damage to the car beside a dint where she hit it, if she'd have been going fast both bike and car would be considerably worse off.

Filtering cases can be tricky. Someone on here filtered past a lorry (wrong side of the road), the lorry turned right and admitted liability. In another identical scenario (the video's Youtube), a car turned right and took out a filtering biker, and the biker admitted liability Confused

Having been through a contested filtering claim, and having looked at a lot of previous cases, it'll probably be contested and will probably go split liability. Hopefully it won't, but you can expect them to argue the case. I'd put money on them offering 50/50 then 75/25.
