 |
|
Looking to get something fairly cheap on the road for getting to work and back, and I've seen this ZX6R: https://www.gumtree.com/p/kawasaki-motorbikes/kawasaki-zx6r-/1146889444
1999, 30k. Looks in reasonable condition, and has a hugger to protect rear shock. Any known issues, or anything beyond the usual chain/sprockets, fork seals, brakes, tyres, frame/fairing cracks? Any known issues with this model/year?
Also, is £900 worth it? Seems like a bargain; you don't seem to get a lot of bike for your money at the moment.
Forgive the "noob" question. Been off bikes for about 6 years and never owned a Kwak before.
Edit: Fixed the daft typo. Wrote something before posting about only had yammy before.
Cheers,
Jay

on a more serious note, based on my 1999 ZZR it'll clunk into gear like a farmer attaching a plough to his tractor and the clutch rattle will sound like the aforementioned tractor but when it's warmed up and you're riding it it'll sound like a sewing machine built by top gear... ____________________ Looking to pass your CBT / Bike tests in Bury Lancashire? try www.focusridertraining.co.uk Would recommend.

ZZR engines are indeed different to the ZX6R engines. The ZX6R F1 engines are different to the G2 ones.
For £900 it looks pretty tidy, as Jimbo mentioned the front wheel has been changed, or at least repainted, which raises the question of what else has been changed.
There aren't any particular issues that the G model ZX6R's are known for. |
