Insurance query

Mum's trying to change insurance over from her supplier
Policy has always been in dad's name but mum has been main driver for at least 15 years
They have 15 years no claims on the policy
Can mum use the no claims from the policy if she swaps the names round
This is all because dad's not well and doesn't drive now

Some policies (like mine) have a mechanism where named drivers can build their own no-claims on the policy. It's explicitly stated though, and I've no idea if it comes close to the no-claims you build up as the policyholder.

Regardless of whatever spin you put on it, she's got zero no claims.

Waiting for arry to confirm, but I've had no luck getting insurers to swap the policyholder (and therefore NCD earner) from me to Mrs Borg on either car policy, despite her being the declared main driver on both of them.

And the policy holder does not have to be the main driver - but the main driver must be properly disclosed so that it can be rated accordingly
