Help needed recovering a bike near castleford/Huddersfield

Hello i have a problem! My bike had no mot this weekend so i took the girlfriends bike to work as i live in huddersfield. Unfortunately this bike (a keeway tx125) has snapped a throttle cable as i was leaving work. It is going to cost me up to £160 to get it recovered by the aa which is currently covering my bike.

If anybody is local to Huddersfield or castleford i would happily pay fuel costs as well as beer money to get it back!
It needs a van really or a trailer as i have been offered to take it in a ford focus and i dont really want to damage the girlfriends bike 😄

Would it not just be easier to get a new cable and replace....

Plus you need to add where you are expecting someone to pick the bike up from and deliver too....

Even make a temp repair to get you home....

I have no tools and throttle cables are hard to come by as nobody stocks parts for this bike. Im presuming it has snapped in the grip as the leaver is totally loose Also i rode my bike into work today as I managed to get it mot'd.

The bike is in normanton and i live in Huddersfield

Thanks for your help but i would repair it ifi could get to the cable, its all encased under the tank with lots of plastic, im going to see if i can borrow a screwdriver from somebody and tie a shoelace to it or something. It would be much easier to get it recovered tbh

Why are the AA charging you? It's a breakdown. Either they fix or recover.

I have cover on my bandit with aa and also mce insurance, so i phoned aa up and they said it will be £60 to swap the cover over and then an additional £60 to recover the bike as it is further than 10 miles away. I cant afford that as my bandit has raped my wallet getting it through an mot.

Mce insurance stated that riding any bike is a free extra to every policy.. However i phoned them up earlier and they said im not covered to ride other bikes!?
So here i am asking for somebody to help me out. Like i said i will pay fuel costs plus beer money.

Not his bike, not covered? A local bike recovery outfit would likely be cheaper, I was charged about £60 for a recovery (claimed back from AutoAid) when the clutch cable went on the Enfield.

On that, you don't need access to the cable to do a quick repair. Tug out the inner from either end, screw a nipple on one end of the repair cable, shove it through the outer, screw the nipple on the other end, connect up, win. Also, in-your-endo.

When replacing it with a new permanent cable, do take care not to pinch or otherwise damage it under the tank: that's what's done for both snapped cables that I've had to date.
